MILWAUKEE (Dec. 12, 2009) – With an indoor soccer clinic worthy of their championship heritage, the Milwaukee Wave crushed the Philadelphia KiXX 27-6 on Saturday night at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

Brett Wiesner and Marco Terminesi each tallied a hat trick and Troy Dusosky contributed four assists while leading a furious defense as the Wave (2-2) made up for their loss in last Sunday’s home opener. It was the largest margin of victory since the Wave beat the Detroit Rockers 29-7 on March 5, 2000.

“I’m so happy for the guys,” said Wave Head Coach Keith Tozer. “This was more like a Wave game.”

Wiesner scored just 2:01 into the game on Dusosky’s first assist, and the Wave never let up. It was 8-0 at the end of the first quarter, then Terminesi opened the second quarter with his first goal to make it 10-0.

The KiXX (1-3) broke through on an unassisted goal by Adauto Neto, his third of the season.

Milwaukee pushed the margin to 14-2 at halftime on Wiesner’s third goal and maintained the intensity in the second half. Terminesi got his second goal after Dusosky forced a turnover with a great sliding tackle. Marcelo Fontana, in his first game back from offseason knee surgery, touched the ball to Terminesi, who beat Sanaldo high. Terminesi closed the hat trick two minutes later, sinking a 3-pointer off a turnover, and it was 21-2.

“The past week of practice was tremendous, and the thing we worked on came out today,” Tozer said.

Terminesi finished with nine points, a career high, and took over the team lead with 13. Wiesner had six points Saturday and has 12 for the season.

Ricardinho added a shootout goal for the KiXX in the third quarter, and Leo Gibson scored his team-high fifth goal in the fourth quarter to close the scoring.

Marcel Feenstra won his first start of the season in goal, stopping 13 of 16 shots.
